Originated in the town of Jezzine in South Lebanon, the traditional firebird cutlery was born in 1770. In 1930, the Haddad family created what would become these iconic handles with vibrantly painted phoenix-shaped handles made of elaborately inlaid bones and buffalo horns. This highly symbolic bird is know to emerge from the ashes and to rise strong, just like the biblical land of Lebanon. These crafts hold within each piece the authentic spirit of Lebanon: History, Culture and Beauty.

This unique traditional craft is so well regarded that it has been presented by Lebanese presidents and officials to dignitaries all over the world beginning with the Ottoman Sultans in the 18th century.
